In the complex context of risk factors’ proliferation and empowering them through means specific to the informational era, the operational development through integration of high-performance technology is a perpetual wish which systematically molds the institutional journey.

The infusion of emerging technology and the imperative need to be digitally competitive in front of the vectors which pose threats to the national security call for an alert rhythm of digitalization, technological growth according to the evolution estimates of the IT&C field internationally.

Who are we?

We are the actor continuously at the disposal of the digital systems’ users, whose base mission is the implementation, integration and administration, from a multiple perspective, of the facilities and technologies which assure the IT&C services, which the employees of the Romanian Intelligence Service utilize in order to fulfill their daily duties.

We function under the subordination of the Technical Field Deputy Director and we cooperate with both the Service’s other technical structures and the ones in the security area.

What are we doing?

We aim for assuring a high level of availability of the IT&C services, the resilience of the hardware and software infrastructures, the suppleness and the efficiency of the IT&C systems and solutions.

We create system architectures, we design, implement and maintain the infrastructures which sustain the relevant applications for the information-operational activity, we assure the pro-active and reactive maintenance. We implement monitoring solutions for the systems’ vulnerabilities, of advanced encryption and securization of the information.

We constantly complete the technologies’ arsenal with IT&C instruments with multiple functions, we enhance the processing capacity of big data volumes, we implement advanced products for refining and analyzing information and facilitating its fast access for the final user.

Furthermore, we contribute, as knowledge providers to the digitalization component, to the technolgical updating and the conformance of the informatic systems owned by the other institutions of the Defense, Public Order and National Security National System, and gouvernment arc.

We constantly catch the reactions regarding the existent IT&C functionalities the desirable ones, we evaluate the areas which need digitalization, we systematize the requirements and hand them out to the research&development sector, we evaluate the technological progress from the market and we adapt the solutions according to the existing portfolio of the Service, we implement technical projects in cooperation with ITA and the external providers of technology, we examine the systems, the procedure and the existing politics in order to identify the risks and the optimization opportunities.

What characterizes us?

Our activity requires a high ability for fast intervention, no matter the moment, the simultaneous support of multiple complex and profoundly heterogeneous technical activities, empathy and adaptability to the profile and the needs of the final users. Our team is characterized by high qualifications, constant desire to improve, team spirit, inventiveness, mobility, dynamism and flexibility.

What is our objective?

The aim of our activity is the assurance of IT&C resources under the aspects of efficiency, performance and continuity of the necessary availability for sustaining the Romanian Intelligence Service’s missions from a preventive perspective, but also from one of countering the threats to the national security through the facilitation of an efficient, fast and competitive response force.
