On March 20, 2020, a SRI officer was tested positive for COVID-19. Bucharest Public Health Directorate and SRI Medical Directorate run a joint epidemiologic investigation to identify and isolate all possible contacts of the officer. The situation is now under control and all legal measures provided in such cases have been taken.

The Director of SRI has ordered the establishment of a Commission under SRI to constantly monitor the implementation of the measures needed to confine spreading of the new virus to the contacts of the patient who has already been tested positive. SRI has a permanent dialogue with the institutions responsible for the management of COVID-19-related issues and strictly follows their decisions on this matter.
